10 years ago, I started this journey as an artist. I remember telling myself I'd no longer lean on covering other artists' music, but instead build the young artist within me. Boy, was I in for a journey. This album, "Songs for the Jeep," taught me the essence of hard work and eventually opened my eyes to how important it was to be myself. It was far from perfect, but it didn't need to be. It was the beginning of me putting aside my fear and trusting my gift. I remember the long nights working with my producer DJ Cool. Missing work, sifting through sounds that sat well with my voice, and tryna build a sound that felt right to me. Looking back, I don't regret a thing because this album opened the door for me to evolve and pushed me to turn every "no" from those major label meetings into stepping stones. This album brought me a lot of opportunities, but more than that, it brought me fans - ones that would eventually become friends and family. If I could tell this young man that was pushing through doubt and on the path to discovery, anything, it'd be: "It won't be easy. Hell, it might not be fun, but it'll be worth it." From the projects in Chicago to Atlanta, where anyone could be someone, to stages all over the world, "Songs for the Jeep," thank you for helping me get here. Thanks to everyone that was involved DJ Cool, Justin L Hatney, RK Jackson, Theshay West, Simone Kelly, Grammy Rich, Dj LuneyTunez, D'Armand and Tyler Weathersby, who shot the artwork for this project.
