Listen, I love bold, colorful home design as much as the next person. But if you’re selling your home, you want to stay far away from those crazy colors and personal design decisions. When it comes to decorating your home as a seller, your focus should be on NEUTRALS.

Neutrals get a bad rap for being bland, but that’s exactly what you want as a seller. You want to make your home as much of a blank slate as possible so buyers can easily imagine themselves in the space. And—bonus—neutrals are actually totally on trend right now.

So if you have vibrant walls, paint them a good neutral beige. Take down your personal decor like family photos and mementos, and if you have bold furniture, consider renting staging furniture.
