It kind of seemed like the Spurs felt like they won the finals after beating the Thunder, but in reality they still had another series to play. The Knicks have taken a 2-0 lead vs the Spurs in the NBA Finals now. Both wins were in San Antonio.

LeBron James and Draymond Green have one of the most fascinating relationships in modern NBA history because they went from fierce rivals to close friends. Their rivalry was at the center of four straight NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018, when LeBron’s Cleveland Cavaliers repeatedly battled Green’s Golden State Warriors. The most famous moment came in the 2016 Finals when Green was suspended for Game 5 after an altercation with LeBron, a turning point in Cleveland’s historic comeback from a 3-1 series deficit to win the championship. Those Finals battles helped define an era of NBA basketball and made both players central figures in one of the league’s greatest rivalries. Despite the intense competition, their relationship grew off the court over the years. Green has openly admitted that he and LeBron were not friends early in their careers and that he once “hated” him as a rival, but their connection developed through mutual respect, shared Midwest roots, and relationships with LeBron’s business circle. Today, they frequently appear together on podcasts, media projects, and events, often praising each other’s basketball IQ and leadership. Their friendship has become one of the NBA’s best examples of how elite competitors can battle relentlessly on the court while maintaining genuine respect and camaraderie away from the game.

Through two games of the 2026 NBA Finals, the New York Knicks have seized complete control of the series against the San Antonio Spurs. New York stole Game 1 on the road, rallying from a 14-point second-half deficit behind Jalen Brunson’s 30 points and a strong all-around effort from Karl-Anthony Towns in a 105-95 victory. The win extended the Knicks’ remarkable playoff surge and immediately shifted home-court advantage in their favor. Game 2 was even more dramatic. The Knicks escaped with a 105-104 win after Victor Wembanyama’s potential game-winner missed at the buzzer. Towns finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Brunson delivered another clutch performance as New York became just the third team in NBA history to win the first two Finals games on the road. With a 2-0 series lead, 13 straight playoff victories, and the next games shifting to Madison Square Garden, the Knicks are now just two wins away from their first NBA championship since 1973.

The 2005–06 season was Kobe Bryant at the absolute peak of his scoring powers. With the Lakers coming off a difficult stretch after Shaquille O’Neal’s departure, Bryant carried the offense almost single-handedly, averaging 35.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game while playing 41 minutes a night. He led the NBA in scoring and dragged a roster with limited star power to a 45–37 record and a playoff berth.

That season produced some of the greatest scoring performances in basketball history. Bryant famously scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors, the second-highest single-game total in NBA history, and recorded 27 games of 40 or more points along with six 50-point games.

His 35.4 points per game were the highest by any player since Michael Jordan averaged over 37 in 1986–87, making it one of the most dominant offensive seasons the league has ever seen.

Crazy but true: Jalen Brunson is shooting 19/56 (34%) in the 2026 NBA Finals & the New York Knicks are STILL UP 2-0 in the series! 😳

Back-to-back “Hot Garbage Treatment” eligible Courtside Buzz posts, but, they were negated by two wins!

Brunson, though, came up clutch & won Game 1 for New York with a masterful 4th quarter performance.

Through the first two games of the 2026 NBA Finals, Josh Hart has looked like a modern-day Dennis Rodman. In Game 1, Hart scored only three points, but completely took over the hustle categories with a game-high 15 rebounds, six assists, and four steals as the Knicks erased a double-digit deficit to steal home-court aadvantage

His performance was so unique that he became the first player in NBA Finals history to lead both teams outright in rebounds, assists, and steals in the same game. Game 2 was the opposite statistically, as foul trouble limited Hart to just 18 minutes and he finished scoreless, but the Rodman comparisons remained fitting because his impact has never been about points. Like Rodman during the Bulls’ championship runs, Hart influences winning through rebounding, defense, loose balls, screens, and pure energy. Through two Finals games, his box scores have become a reminder that some of basketball’s most valuable contributions don’t always show up in the scoring column, and Hart’s relentless style has been a major reason the Knicks now hold a 2-0 series lead.
