Meet the Team! πŸ’™

This week we sat down with Kate Ginise, Equestrian Business Manager at CapillaryFlow.

β€œAs Equestrian Business Manager at CapillaryFlow, I have the opportunity to combine my lifelong passion for horses with innovation, sustainability, and performance.

My journey in the equestrian world began on a small farm in Ohio, where horses were simply a way of life. When I was in the fourth grade, my mother founded an equine-assisted therapy nonprofit, and I spent years volunteering in lessonsβ€”an experience that deepened my appreciation for the powerful connection between horses and people.

I started riding at a young age and began training and competing under professional guidance by age eight. Growing up, I was also actively involved in 4-H, where I showed my pony, sheep, and dog. Those experiences taught me responsibility, sportsmanship, and a deep respect for animal care that continues to influence me today. After spending several winter seasons training and competing in Wellington, Florida, I eventually made the move full-time to continue pursuing the sport.

Outside the arena, I graduated magna cm laude from The Ohio State University with a background in health promotion, nutrition and exercise science, along with minors in bioethics and global public health. That scientific foundation continues to influence the way I approach equestrian performance, arena design, and horse-and-rider wellness.

Whether I’m in the saddle, working with clients, or helping to create better riding environments, I’m passionate about supporting the long-term success and welfare of both horses and riders. Horses have shaped nearly every chapter of my life, and I’m grateful to now combine that passion with a career dedicated to advancing the future of our sport.”

Why do grasses grown in CapillaryFlow Hydroponic Systems develop much stronger root systems than traditional soil-grown turf? 🌱

It comes down to the root-zone environment.

Traditional soil-grown turf:
β€’ Inconsistent moisture and oxygen levels
β€’ Soil compaction limits root development
β€’ Weaker root structure and turf stability
β€’ More surface breakdown under hoof traffic and weather stress

CapillaryFlow Hydroponics: πŸ’§ 🌱
β€’ Dense, fibrous root development
β€’ Improved oxygen and moisture balance in the root zone
β€’ Stronger root-to-sand binding and sod cohesion
β€’ Greater resistance to shear forces and surface displacement
β€’ Faster recovery after traffic and training use 🐎

For equestrian applications, this translates to a more stable and resilient surface for horses to ride, run, train, and graze on β€” while also improving durability, consistency, drainage, and long-term turf performance. 🐎 🌱 πŸ’§

Great footing starts below the surface. 🐎✨

At CapillaryFlow, we focus on what truly matters β€” the foundation. Because elite arena performance isn’t defined by the sand alone, but by the system supporting it.

Our engineered base technology enhances drainage, preserves consistency, and delivers reliable support with every stride β€” helping protect your horse and elevate your ride.

Plus, CapillaryFlow arenas use up to 85% less water, making them as efficient as they are high-performing.πŸ’§
