This Friday, we are throwing it all the way back.

As Smooth Fusion celebrates 25 years, we are digging into the archives and sharing photos from our earliest days. This first batch comes from the first five years of the journey, when the internet looked very different, and our company’s foundations were being built.

A lot has changed since then, but the people, relationships, and commitment to great work still define who we are today.

Here is where it all started.

In 2001, this was “mobile productivity.”
Today, it’s a museum piece.

The BlackBerry was the ultimate status symbol for business professionals.

Always-on email. Physical keyboard. That unmistakable click of real keys.

If you had one, you were connected. And people knew it.

Mobile phones back then did one thing well. They kept you reachable.
No apps. No touchscreens. No streaming. Just calls, texts, and battery life measured in days.

But what's changed isn’t just the devices.

It’s the expectations.

Today, the phone in your pocket is more powerful than the servers that many companies ran their entire businesses on in 2001.

It’s your office, communication hub, research tool, navigation system, camera, authentication device, shopping assistant, and entertainment center all in one device.

That shift didn’t just change phones.

It changed how businesses operate, how customers engage, and how digital experiences are delivered.

Smooth Fusion was founded 25 years ago, before the iPhone, before apps as we know them today, and before “mobile-first” was even a phrase.

We’ve watched digital evolve from a nice-to-have into mission-critical infrastructure.

From static websites → dynamic platforms
From desktops → mobile-first experiences
From isolated systems → fully integrated ecosystems

It’s remarkable how far we’ve come in 25 years, not just at Smooth Fusion, but in the technology that now shapes how every business operates.
