We blinked and summer break was over!
Yesterday Ella got her yellow belt in Gracie jiu-jitsu and today she’s taking all that “bully-proof pma” with her to middle school. Middle school!!
We were lucky to be able to meet up with her besties outside of the school so they could walk in together. It’s beautiful to see how much more confident they are with each other’s support and we couldn’t be more grateful for these boys

🎓 And just like that this 5th grader graduated elementary school yesterday and is ready to start middle school. But first a well deserved summer break!
It was a bittersweet last trip home on her skateboard (see video in the comments). The last two school years were the weirdest and we had to deal with so many new and sometimes really messed up situations, just like all of you, but we made it so far. Let’s hope we can all ride these crazy pandemic times out with good health, more compassion and tons more kindness. 🤞🏼
We apologize for not posting on here much lately. We didn’t even post the picture when Ella returned to in-school classes in September (added it now) and our annual X-mas picture (will post later).

Who has some encouraging words for a brand-new fifth grader who now started week 2 of enhanced distance learning and feels super lonely? Ella loves “taking her dog to school” but misses her friends so much 😔
Truth be told, this family definitely had it with this virus and we’d shoot it into the sun where it belongs if we could, totally over it. Pretty sure we’re not alone with this sentiment, but we hope you all still try and make the best of this unfortunate situation, rooting for all of you 🤞🏼♥️🤞🏼

Incredibullstella is the first we started following on social media. Stella’s mom, Marika was protesting at our airport because of Delta’s ridiculous pit bull ban, that’s out very first memory of her.
Marika, we didn’t know you that well, but you were our local hero and we’re so glad we were able to thank you in person for all that you did for the and a ton of dogs that needed help. We promise to always speak up for our beloved forever and ever, in your memory 🙏🏼
Stella, Walle, Brian, Caitie and Carly we’re keeping you in our hearts and send you our sincere condolences. We hope you all stay ♥️
