We are an ATV Club serving the Madison and Anson, Maine area. We meet the fourth Thursday of the month (April-November) at 7 PM at Old Point Ave meeting room.

Ms. Wendy and I were unable to attend the club ride due to a prior commitment this morning. We are going to attempt a Skowhegan loop this afternoon. Guessing 60 miles and 5 to 6 hours. LOTS of road riding. All are welcomed to tag along. NOT an official club ride. Leaving Casey's Market at 1:00.

The real reason Lil Wayne didn't show up in Bangor? He was helping with trail work and having so much fun that he lost track of time!

Some gates on the KVT may be open for a short time during trail work. The width limit for vehicles other than maintenance equipment is 65". Be advised: if you go through an open gate with something wide, there's a real chance you'll be stuck behind a locked gate when you come out.

This isn't a ski resort.
There will be no end-of-day sweeps.

Madison-Anson ATV Club has an immediate opening for our Secretary position. Our recent Secretary has tendered her resignation due to health concerns. We wish her and her family well, and also, we wish her improved health.

I don't have the bylaws in front of me at the moment, but the general job description is to attend an in-person evening meeting once a month from April to November, in Madison, which, between the director's meeting and the membership meeting, takes about 2 to 2.75 hours. During the meeting, by the use of fast writing, potentially coupled with an audio recorder, the Secretary will transcribe the meeting minutes and use these to prepare a Secretary's report for use at the following monthly meeting. Our meetings are normally the 4th Thursday of the month April - October, and the 3rd Thursday in November.

Although rare, the Secretary may, from time to time be asked to draft communications to our bank, to the ATV program, or may be asked to research a matter in our archives. Again, these extras are rare. As a director in the club, you may also be occasionally solicited for a vote or opinion in matters related to club business, often by email.

Pay? Well, it's exactly the same as the President, the V.P., the Treasurer, the Trailmaster! We're all equals in that regard! The pay is "personal satisfaction" and "pride in a job well done," as well as the knowledge that you're helping out a worthy organization.

Our bylaws do require that all officers and directors be members in good standing of the club and at least 18 years of age. Ideally, we'd find someone who's already a member.

The Board of Directors reserves the right to appoint an interim officer in the event of a vacancy. The current term that has been vacated expires on 12/31/27 (two-year terms). Realistically, there generally aren't people clamoring for seats at the front table, and the person filling the vacancy would probably be able to stay on for as many terms as they'd like, without having to worry about fighting for the job.
