Memorial Day Reminds Us Freedom Isn’t Free The VFW calls on America to remember the true, somber meaning of Memorial Day, honoring the fallen heroes who forfeited their futures to defend our freedom.

Thank you to the Barstow Fire Department, the City of Barstow, and the VFW for their help today with our American Flag. Our cable for raising and lowering the flag broke and the backside of our flag was coming apart. Today the City and the Fire Department came out to aid us in getting the cable restrung. Rick Oakley and the VFW donated a new cable and a flag. This was the epitome of teamwork and we can now proudly fly the flag at the Memorial Day service. Thank you!!!!
