First adjournment was on Friday night.
It’s bittersweet — we have veto session on April 9, but you never truly know if you’ll make it back to your seat for the next session. First Adjournment is the first time you can really feel the weight of the session lifted off your shoulders. We’re all in desperate need of sabbath; your lawmakers have exhausted themselves this session through an intense calendar, record number of bills, extensive debates, and a devastating loss. Many of us wear badges of burnout and are contemplating the realities of re-election.
As for me, this has been the experience of a lifetime, and an honor I am truly humbled to live. I’ll be spending time offline as much as possible to prepare for Veto Session. See you soon, Topeka.

I’m 25 years old today!
A year older, a lot wiser, and more committed than ever to doing meaningful work. I’m grateful for every opportunity to serve, learn, and lead — the best is ahead!

Being a student pilot has been the opportunity of a lifetime.
Not many people get to see the Flint Hills from 3,000 feet, or take in Bill Snyder Stadium from the best seat in the house — the cockpit of a small, single-engine plane. Over the past few months, I’ve gotten to experience Kansas in a way that never gets old.
So when I learned that seaplanes aren’t welcome in Kansas, I was genuinely stunned.
Kansas — the Air Capital of the World. A leader in aviation engineering, avionics, and innovation. A state with deep aviation roots and pride. And yet…not seaplane-friendly? Surprised doesn’t even cover it.
That’s why I’m proud to sponsor Kansas HB 2687.
And so from the work of a motivated student pilot, an aviation business owner, and some fantastic revisors, this bill has been introduced in the Kansas House to bring common-sense aviation access in line with who we are as a state.
If you care about aviation, innovation, or keeping Kansas competitive, I encourage you to learn more about HB 2687 and share your thoughts with your legislators.
Kansas should lead in aviation — not lag behind.

As the World Cup rapidly approaches, here are some interesting and useful facts and figures as it relates to the monumental efforts being made by KC2026 and the entire region as it prepares to host the largest sporting event in the history of the world.
I recognize that Manhattan isn’t part of hosting this event, but because our community will travel to attend and people may fly into our airport, this feels important to share.

Thank you Civic Engagement Club members for attending last night’s State of State Address! Ethan and Kayley hosted me at Washburn to speak to their club late last year. Both are law students who attended undergrad in Kansas!

A moment of remembrance for 9/11. 24 years ago today, the towers fell and a cross stayed there — standing above the debris, the hurt, the loss.
I had the opportunity to visit Ground Zero a little over two years ago and honor the lives lost on and after this day. To see this massive artifact pulled from the ruins in person is surreal and haunting.
Never take a day that you are blessed with for granted. Hug your loved ones, celebrate your freedom, and give glory to God.

I had the absolute honor of attending the 19th Collective Summer Retreat. The weekend was about pausing, reflecting, and reconnecting—with your values, your leadership, and each other.
Our facilitator, Sonja Bomhoff is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the International Coaching Federation and brings over a decade of experience helping leaders grow with clarity, courage, and compassion.
The 19th Collective is a bipartisan community of Gen Z and millennial women legislators united by a shared commitment to leadership, collaboration, and advocacy. Inspired by the legacy of the 19th Amendment, the Collective was created to answer the call of young women legislators seeking deeper connections and a stronger sense of community in public service.
It’s a privilege to call these women my friends, and I am so blessed to know and support the future of women in politics. Thank you to Dr. Nekkita Beans, Associate Director of Leadership Programs, for planning and hosting such a fantastic weekend through Future Caucus!

Day #2 at the Clean Energy Legislative Academy hosted by Center for the New Energy Economy Colorado State University!
We started our day learning about bipartisan messaging with Dr. Martin Carcasson, Ph.D., Senator Cleave Simpson, and Senator Dylan Roberts. Then, legislators took the floor to share experiences, challenges, and opportunities for energy-related legislation in their home states.
I attended two breakout sessions: 1) Modernizing the Grid and Empowering Consumers with Camille Kadoch and Gennelle Wilson and 2) Energy Efficiency and the Built Environment with Cliff Majersik and Mark Kresowik.
We wrapped up our evening talking about Methane Solutions and Emerging Technologies with Bryan Willson, Ph.D.
My goal for this conference is to bring home innovative policy ideas that can serve as solutions for energy priorities across Kansas. I’m excited to delve deep into the conference for Day 3!

Wrapped up the evening with dinner, legislator, expert faculty, speaker, and staff Introductions, and a gorgeous walk in the heart of Golden, Colorado.
