You are invited to see how sorghum syrup is made at 55059 200th st, Mankato, MN. We are pressing sorghum cane today (9-27-25) and tomorrow starting at 11am and then we'll cook it. It's an interesting process. We will be doing a few more batches in October.

Old School Pure Sorghum Syrup is now available to purchase at Hy-Vee (downtown location @ 410 S. Riverfront Dr., Mankato, MN) in the aisle with molasses and at the Dam Store Café @ 609 S. Front St in Mankato. Sorghum syrup can be used as a all natural nutrient-rich sugar substitute, syrup, when making sauces (BBQ, etc.), or in baking. My sorghum cookies are fantastic!

Hy-Vee downtown and the Dam Store Café also sell our maple syrup.

Saturday we used the antique cane mill to press the sorghum cane. After cooking the juice, the sorghum syrup looks and tastes great.

We are expanding our syrup production to include sorghum syrup, which is common in southern states. It has a complex taste that is hard to explain because it's sweet, slightly sour, earthy, light mild molasses and caramel undertones. You got to try it.

This weekend (Oct. 12th) we will be making sorghum syrup. Tomorrow we will cut our cane and Saturday we will press out the juice and cook it until it becomes sorghum syrup. Anyone nearby who is interested in the process can come to our sorghum shed at 55059 200th st, Mankato, MN.
