The Crystal Police Department posted an update for their missing person investigation. The Maple Grove Police Department continues to assist the Crystal Police Department, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, and Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office in this ongoing investigation. While the case remains active, there is no indication of foul play and no risk to the community. The loss of life is always tragic for any family and the community. Further information will be provided as the investigation is completed.

5/15/26 6:30pm

During a search of the area surrounding Jessica’s last known location, a deceased person was located. The deceased person is now with the Hennepin county medical examiner, with a positive identification of the person pending. At this time the search has ceased.

We want to thank the communities of Crystal and Maple Grove, along with our local medical community for their willingness to assist in the search. Jessica‘s family is requesting privacy at this time. 

The Crystal Police Department is continuing an ongoing investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.

We would also like to thank the following entities for their partnership in this investigation- Northstar Search and Rescue, the Maple Grove, Police Department, the Hennepin County sheriffs office, and the Hennepin County medical examiners office.

Jessica Akersid Omoke was reported to the Crystal Police Department as a missing person on 5/14/26. Her last known location was in the 9300 Block of Fernbrook Ln N in Maple Grove on 5/13/26 at approximately 10pm. She was last seen wearing dark navy blue nurse scrubs. Please contact the Crystal Police Department with any information by dialing 911.
