Our 13th training session has commenced this week. At the end of the week, we will have almost 500 first responders trained in behavioral health crisis. We are grateful to the Ingham County Sheriff's Office for hosting our 40 hour training.

Ingham County Health Department has noted a recent increase in suspected drug overdose activity in the county. We are issuing this alert to increase community awareness and advise first responders, healthcare providers, and substance users and their families of the increased risk for overdose in our community.

This alert serves as a notice to implement protective measures including:
✔️ Avoid using street drugs alone/call 1-877-696-1996 to stay on the line with someone when using drugs
✔️Carry naloxone and be prepared to use multiple doses when necessary

✔️Administer naloxone for drug overdoses even when non-opioids are indicated
✔️Call 911 immediately if an overdose is suspected
✔️Test drugs for fentanyl and xylazine before use. Get free test strips and Narcan in the lobby of 5303 S. Cedar St, #3 in Lansing M-F 8am-5pm, or from Punks with Lunch Lansing at 1300 Eureka St in Lansing, M-F 12pm-5pm
