This weekend has been a busy week. We had our screen and our new line array sound system up for the rodeo at Tara Creek. Double Creek Pro Rodeo. What a great venue and group of people to be a part of.

One of the best investments as a producer or promoter you can make is hiring a good videographer and photographer. Don't just let the random photographer who shows up take pictures at your event. This is your footage, your image, and your representation of the sport. This allows you to have valuable footage for marketing at all levels. This allows you to have videos at your event to bring your events value to a premium. Use this footage to promote your event. Stop using footage of the 1999 NFR to show people what your event is all about, because it's not. We are trying to bring new fans into this sport. Don't promote events at a level that you can't bring to that level.

This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for all the rodeo and Western sports fans that come out to support these events. Except the people who want to bitch about their kids not being able to mutton bust. Go home.

Stop working for what people think you should make.

"Oh you're just sitting there pushing buttons".....ok go get your sound system and computer and show me how it's done.

"The guy last year didn't charge us that much"....ok go hire him back.

"Hey listen this is a low budget deal".....ok you have low budget expectations.

Know your worth! Stop busting your ass to break even just to be at the "show"

But you have to be willing to invest in your system.....your skills.....and yourself or you're no better than the people I'm talking about.
