And now, the applause for Joel Frey—our first introduction of The Visionary Ten.

These 2026 Visionaries are thought leaders, think tanks, entrepreneurs, strategists, AI innovators, consultants, coaches, change-makers, motivators, disruptors, and founders. They are passionate about people and the future of work. They are CEOs, photographers, award-winning authors, community leaders, and even a geek disguised as a business executive. We have a Hype-Man. We have two brothers who normally share the stage but at DisruptHR Memphis they will be delivering their own powerful visionary talk.

They are the disruptive future of HR. You need to be there!

And most importantly, every one of them made their bed this morning.

Wait... what?

Let's look at a powerful statement from Admiral McRaven's 2014 University of Texas commencement speech:

"If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed."

That one small task can influence your entire day. It sends a message of encouragement. A message of hope.

We all want transformation, but too often we skip the reps that build belief. We skip the habits that create encouragement. We skip the disciplines that generate hope. Sometimes, we don't even make our bed.

And let's be clear—making your bed isn't about tidiness.

It's about proof.

Proof that you follow through.
Proof that you keep promises.
Proof that you finish what you start.

The Disruption After-Hours stage is where The Visionary Ten refuse to skip those reps that build belief. It's where they choose to speak up, shake things up, challenge conventional thinking, and inspire Visionary Attendees to make meaningful changes.

To encourage them to make their bed every morning.

So, let's add to Admiral McRaven's powerful statement:

"If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed... because changing the world is always disruptive."

And our first Visionary is ready to challenge us to think differently.

The wait is over… BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

DisruptHR Memphis is being… disrupted!

The Disrupt HR Memphis Visionary Organizers are beyond excited to introduce two dynamic experiences: Disruption After-Hours and Disruption Matinee-Style: Future Voices Now!

In September 2026, DisruptHR Memphis will host a Disruption After-Hours event. The venue and official date will be announced very soon—along with our honored nonprofit recipient.

Then starting in 2027, we’re expanding in a BIG way—hosting two events each year!

✨ June 2027:
At the Malco Ridgeway Theatre, we will debut our Disruption Matinee-Style: Future Voices Now!—with a twist.

This stage will spotlight speakers from youth through age 25. There is incredible talent out there, and we’re bringing those voices front and center!

✨ September 2027:
Our signature Disruption After-Hours event returns.

At DisruptHR Memphis, we believe great ideas deserve to be heard—no matter your experience level.

Never spoken on stage before? Nervous? Think you might mess up? Perfect.
The DisruptHR format is designed to be fun, fast, and forgiving—and we like it that way.

You don’t have to be a perfect speaker… but you do have a powerful message that needs to be shared.

DisruptHR is a global movement spanning 260 cities across 35 countries, creating space for diverse voices—including those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to be heard—to share ideas about the workplace, the future of work, and their communities.

As we look ahead to Future Voices Now in 2027, let’s take a moment to remember a powerful voice from 2023…

At just 11 years old, Candace Naomi Parkerson, daughter of Finis TheBoss Parkerson, took the Disruption Matinee stage and asked: “How Can Kids Change the World?”

Candace began Sowing Seeds of Love at just 5 years old—encouraging her family to help feed displaced citizens in Memphis. By age 7, with her parents’ support, she launched her own nonprofit. Her vision? To end homelessness.

She challenged the audience with a simple truth:
“Just look around… me, your kids, other kids—we are already doing it.”

She closed with a powerful declaration:
“I have a dream… I have a vision… One day, there will be no displaced citizens, or children…”

Future Voices belong on this stage.

All speakers will follow the signature DisruptHR format, inspired by TED Talks and Ignite-style presentations:

🎤 10 speakers (Disruptors)
⏱ 5 minutes each
🖥 20 slides auto-advancing every 15 seconds

Fast. Focused. Impactful.
Teach us something new—and make it quick.

The future is speaking...are you ready to listen?
