Tom Petty Receives Posthumous Ph.D. for Music at University of Florida The school’s board of trustees unanimously voted on Dec. 3.

Our band, Off Center has the best experience every year cheering on the St Jude Half Marathon runners as they pass Sun Studio into that last half mile. It’s hard to describe the inspiration exchange there. Runners push themselves beyond expectations to support a crown jewel of Memphis, the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where no parents ever receive a bill for the life-saving care of their children. Come join us this Saturday morning starting at 9 am, in our front row seat for this rousing and energizing event. As a bonus, you’ll hear some rare Off Center rock originals, and assorted deep cut power-pop covers. If you have friends or family running the half marathon, catch up with them at our spot, and follow them from the sideline for the last half mile. The races raise over $10M each year to cure childhood cancer. I am proud to play a small part, and I also get to say that we played for 12,000 people -- only a few at a time, but that’s a minor detail!
