Rooted Womb RVA
Im autumn and Im offering my postpartum doula services in the Richmond VA and surrounding areas!
The newborn phase is beautiful… but it can also feel really overwhelming—especially when sleep is unpredictable and you’re running on empty.
One thing I always remind families: your baby isn’t “bad” at sleep… they’re just new to the world 🤍
Sleep in those early weeks isn’t about strict schedules or training—it’s about gentle guidance, understanding your baby’s cues, and creating a rhythm that works for your family. And just as importantly, it’s about making sure you are getting the rest and support you need too.
That’s where postpartum support can make such a difference.
Whether it’s helping you get a solid stretch of sleep overnight, supporting feeding, or guiding you through what’s normal (and what’s not), you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
You deserve rest.
You deserve support.
You deserve to feel confident in this season.
If you’ve been feeling exhausted or unsure, I’m here to help 🤍

🌿 A Gentle Reminder 🌿
Bringing a new baby into the world should be a time of love, healing, and support. But for some, the postpartum period can also bring challenges that feel overwhelming—and sometimes, those challenges include unsafe relationships.
Domestic violence can take many forms—emotional, verbal, financial, or physical. It’s never okay, and no one should ever have to face it alone. 💜
As a postpartum doula, I believe in supporting the whole family—and that includes making sure parents feel safe, respected, and cared for. If you or someone you love is experiencing abuse, please know that help is available.

You deserve to heal, to feel safe, and to experience the joy of this season without fear.

🌿 ADHD & Life with a Newborn: Gentle Tips for Parents 🌿
Welcoming a newborn is a big transition for any parent, and if you live with ADHD, the adjustment can bring unique challenges. The good news? A few simple strategies can help ease the overwhelm:
✨ Visual Reminders – Use sticky notes, phone alarms, or a whiteboard in the nursery to keep track of feedings, diaper changes, and naps.
✨ Simplify the Environment – Keep baby items in baskets or bins in the rooms you use most. Less searching means less stress.
✨ Create Rhythms, Not Rigid Schedules – ADHD brains often thrive on flexibility. Instead of strict times, focus on consistent sequences (for example: feed → burp → diaper → swaddle → nap).
✨ Rest Where You Can – Sleep deprivation can worsen ADHD symptoms. Ask for help, take shifts with your partner, or nap during the day when possible.
✨ Give Yourself Grace – Perfection isn’t the goal. Meeting your baby’s needs while taking care of yourself is more than enough. 💛
As a postpartum doula, I support parents in creating systems that work for them—because every brain and every family is unique.
💚 You’re doing a wonderful job.

✨ Transitioning Out of the Swaddle ✨
Swaddling can be such a comfort for newborns, helping them feel snug and secure in those early weeks. But as babies grow, there comes a time to make the transition out of the swaddle for both safety and sleep success. 💤
👉 Signs it may be time to stop swaddling:
Baby is starting to roll (safety first!)
They’re breaking out of the swaddle regularly
Sleep isn’t as restful as it once was
🌱 Tips for a smoother transition:
Try one arm out at a time before going completely unswaddled.
Switch to a sleep sack or transitional suit that still provides some coziness without restricting movement.
Keep a consistent bedtime routine—this helps baby feel secure during the change.
Remember, every baby is different. Some adjust quickly, while others need a little more time and patience. ❤️
As a postpartum doula, I love guiding families through these transitions—big and small—because they can feel overwhelming in the moment. But with support, they become just another step in your baby’s beautiful journey. 🌙✨
