Do this until your maintenance calories are in a healthy place where you truly don’t want to eat any more (from mainly whole foods) & you don’t gain weight from having the occasional treat or off day. THEN we can talk about cutting calories to lose weight if that is your goal.

Many people looking to lose weight are eating very low calorie (often flirting around the 1,200-1,400 mark) and we have no room to cut (or no room to have fun and enjoy the foods at parties or celebrations). It is extremely unhealthy to eat below 1,200 calories because even with “perfect” eating we can’t get our micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) from food.

At the end of a cut, we want your calories to be in a place that you can eat at forever because the body adapts to that new normal. You shouldn’t feel like you gain weight every time you choose to have a cookie or a glass of wine. This is a sign we need to reverse diet so we can have a higher calorie maintenance & enjoy life a little.

‼️Constantly dieting to lose weight then “eating normal” again and gaining it back is not a fat loss strategy. ✨If it doesn’t work long term, it isn’t an actual solution.✨We need to change the narrative around losing weight.
