Throwback to summer of 2019 when Ryan finished developing our digital receipt API. We shot this quick video as somewhat of a demo to show how easy it would be to get a receipt through a QR code.
We borrowed a family friend’s camera and used Momma Daulton’s office as our place to shoot this video. We did our best to show what it would look and feel like if you were to use this on a or any other iPad POS system.
We made a few mistakes with this API launch though. Aside from a few articles (that we didn’t even share with people in our network 🤦♂️), we barely made any digital marketing efforts to raise awareness around what we were building.
We also didn’t reach out to enough POS developers before launching our product. We thought we had a great product that would be easy to sell, but in reality, we should’ve been using their inputs to shape a better product (or avoid this route entirely).
Not gonna lie, we were really bummed when this didn’t take off like we thought it would - it really hurt. BUT as the great put in his book , pain + reflection = progress, and even though it doesn’t seem like much at times, we’ve definitely made progress.
