If you're approaching menopause, you may notice changes in how you feel or even experience some memory issues. I love how Angela unpacks the science behind this. She's a compassionate and knowledgeable coach and educator, and I can't wait to share our upcoming podcast discussion about brain health during menopause.

Iโve experienced moments where Iโd walk into a room and completely forget why I was even there, only to finally remember after I walked all the way back down the stairs to where I started.โฃ
โฃ
I even had one of those 'stop and stare' moments when I realized I had placed the ketchup bottle in the cupboard instead of back in the fridge. It only happened once, but it was enough to make me wonder, 'Am I losing my mind?' That feeling of losing your focus or mental clarity, even for a second, can be unsettling. I think many of us mid-life women secretly worry itโs the start of something permanent.โฃ
โฃ
Because I wanted to understand what was actually happening to me, I started diving into the research of neuroscientist Dr. Lisa Mosconi.

I learned that estrogen is like a master key that unlocks energy for our brain cells. As those 'keys' become harder to find during the menopause transition, our brains go into a temporary 'low power' mode. Itโs a real, biological energy crisis, and we feel it!โฃ
โฃ
But the good news is that your brain is incredibly adaptable. It can rewire itself, but this takes time. This is a pivotal window when our lifestyle choices matter most; focusing on specific health habits now can help ease this transition and make daily challenges feel more manageable.โฃ
โฃ
I recently sat down with Aleisha Theisen on the Wellness Wins Podcast to discuss this further because I want you to know you arenโt broken. Iโll share that conversation with you later this monthโฃ
โฃ
But for today, if you find yourself back at the bottom of the stairs or in another room trying to remember what you needed... give yourself some grace.โฃ

P.S. Iโll share more about this "renovation" journey every week the remainder of this month as I lead up to the podcast episode. I look forward to diving deeper with you. Have you had one of those "ketchup in the cupboard" moments lately? Tell me Iโm not the only one! ๐โฃ

Time can get away from me. That project I wanted to complete this year slides into the next. Sometimes thatโs a necessity: deaths in the family, job changes, and illnesses all take precedence over previous intentions. But I still feel that internal clock ticking, those creative projects looming, tapping me on the shoulder and saying, โwhat about me?โ
Do you feel that too?
Time management for creatives isnโt necessarily about squeezing more productivity out of every hour โ although it can be at times. It's also about creating space for our imaginations to breathe, for ideas to germinate, and for our creative spirits to flourish.
By blending insights from Ashley Whillansโ Time Smart and Dr. Kristin Neffโs Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself, I've discovered a gentler way to approach our relationship with time.
