The MXR Blue Box is a great octave fuzz. Unfortunately, it suffers from an anemic volume output. I’ve seen a few different solutions offered up online - none of which really work well, in my opinion. We do it properly - by installing a small boost circuit inside. The added volume pot for the boost circuit can be placed on the side of the pedal (as pictured) or as an internal trim pot.
Side note: the book in the photo has been a source of daily inspiration and wisdom for a while. It offers up guidance for being a better human being in short daily lessons. I recommend both the mod and the book!
