The heat and humidity are fueling scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening (roughly 2 PM – 11 PM).

The Setup: Not everyone will get rained on, but the storms that do pop up could pack a serious punch.

The Risks: A Level 1/5 Marginal Risk is in place for the Northshore and southern MS. Watch out for gusty winds, frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and localized flooding. (An isolated waterspout is possible, but risk is low).

The Long Haul: Once these clear, the relentless heat is right back. Highs in the 90s with heat indices cracking 100°F+ every afternoon this week.
