In the 1940s Burge’s Drive-In was the place to be! With the tagline “Good Homemade Food and Pastries” it quickly became the local hangout and a cruising pitstop. 🍔
Adding to the cool factor was a remote DJ from the radio station KFIV who would broadcast from the drive-in and take song dedications from young love birds in the parking lot! 🎶
Burge’s role in cruising history would be used as the inspiration for Mels Drive-In in the American Graffiti movie years later. 🚘
