Congratulations to senior Bella LaFountain for placing 26th in the state at the Division 3 State Finals today!

Bella becomes the first Kestrel in SMCC history to earn All-State honors all four years of her high school cross country career — an incredible achievement!
• Freshman year: 17th in the state
• Sophomore year: 20th in the state
• Junior year: 19th in the state
• Senior year: 26th in the state

Bella will continue her running career at Wayne State University. The future is bright for you, Bella — we’re so proud!

Congratulations to sophomore Christian Craanen for placing 3rd overall in the state at the Division 3 State Finals today with a fantastic time of 15:35!

As a freshman, Christian placed 14th in the state — and this year, he made an incredible jump to finish 3rd overall.

We are so proud of you, Christian! Your high school running career is off to an amazing start, and the future is bright!

Congratulations to our boys and girls cross country teams on competing at the Division 3 State Finals today!

This marks the fifth consecutive year the entire girls team has qualified for states, and the first time since 2020 that the boys team has qualified. It’s also the first time since 2010 that both teams have qualified for the state finals in the same season!

Congratulations to Bella LaFountain on earning All-State Cross Country honors at the MHSAA D3 State Finals today. Bella is the first Kestrel cross country runner to earn all state honors 4 times!

Congratulations to Christian Craanen on his 3rd place finish today at the MHSAA D3 Cross Country State Finals. That finish earned Christian 1st Team All-State honors. He also broke the school record again with a 15:35:80 time.
