A Troubling of Koi
Years ago Gainesville’s own Pam & Alice opened “Aquarium Connection“ with a pond of Koi at the entrance of NE 6th & 23rd. These soon became store pets and moved with Pam & Alice 3 times. Finally closing the 6th and University sore in 2005. Pam & I got half the Koi and brought them home, and have multiplied to 50 plus fish in the 19 years, to date.
Last year, due to a leak, we moved 40+ Koi to a 2nd pond. This year to restart my 4,200 gal. , repaired pond, I introduced 6 children of Aquarium Connections Koi, at the beginning of spring. Soon the first Troubling of Koi began, and they have continued to birth at least 3 more broods. The 6 parents are: Three Butterflies {One, orange with Black Markings. Two, black with white markings.} Also three Standard Koi {One, White with a Black Zipper down his back. Two, Orange with black markings}. In the last three months the 6 Koi parents have produced 100 Plus, at least 3 gasp, evident by the range in size from 3inch to 1inch
