🤔Have you heard of Attention Restoration Theory? It’s one of the cornerstones of 🌿 . Nature offers so much to us - , , shapes, sounds, scents, metaphors - that our attention wanders fluidly from one form of input to another, from a 🌸 to a 🦜, from the clouds to a tree trunk. This gives a break to our overworked, overtaxed prefrontal cortex. It finally gets a moment (or a few) of not having to force our eyes to stare at a screen, to make micro decisions, to be forcibly engaged in doing. Instead, we can just be. After a nature break, we are better able to focus, our productivity increases, and we approach tasks from a more rested place.

On this Earth Day and every day, let’s remember that we all are nature and be a little kinder, a little softer, a little greener, and a little slower.
I hope you get to be with the sun, the moon, your feet on the Earth 🌍, feeling all the sensations and living all the feelings.
