Darryl’s culinary journey started at age 8 with a pot of lentils, and took him through top kitchens like Bouchon and Press before coming full circle to his roots. Born and raised in Kansas City, BBQ was always in his bones so teaming up with Napa native Jeremy Threat and opening Stateline was more than a business move…it was a homecoming. Now, they’re serving up slow-smoked meats, house sauces, and that “+” touch that reflects finesse, care, and community love. 🖤

As Napa’s first Black-owned restaurant in over a century, Stateline Road is more than a place to eat—it’s a space where people feel welcome, represented, and at home. From pop-ups at the farmers market to opening the doors of their Quonset hut in 2024, Darryl and the team are building something bigger than BBQ.
