💔💔 Man Allegedly Shot His Pregnant 17 Year Old Girlfriend Dead 💔

A 17-year-old pregnant girl was fatally shot this weekend in San Diego.

Jariah Edwards is being remembered by family and friends as someone who made people feel seen and always made them laugh.

Her friends are in denial.

"Honestly, like when I first found out, that was just like the most heartbreaking thing to ever hear. Yeah, it's just sad. Like she didn't deserve this. And I don't know. Nobody should experience this at such a young age," Amara Corley said.

The Corley sisters have known Edwards for several years. But it feels like a lifetime.

"She was funny. Like we always laughed about. Yeah, her personality was very sarcastic," Amara Corley said.

Police said the teen was visiting San Diego with her family. According to San Diego police, her 21-year-old boyfriend drove from Phoenix to San Diego where he met her and allegedly shot her.

He was literally a monster and he ran into somebody with a pure soul. Like there's nothing she could have did that made him act like this," Jamila Corley said.

Police said Edwards was about 32 weeks pregnant. The baby is still in the hospital.

"That's the last part we have of her, while he still gets to be alive in jail," Jamila Corley said.

Domestic violence and teen dating violence experts say there is help out there.

"That's the most heartbreaking part about it. It's entirely preventable. Every single instance of domestic violence is preventable," said Tanner Swanson, with A New Leaf.

Friends say Edwards was trying to leave her boyfriend, and now they're remembering the girl who always wanted to be a mom.

"This is like the last person on Earth that you would expect this to happen to. Like, she did not deserve this at all," Amara Corley said.

Family and friends have started a fundraiser hoping to help the newborn and lay Edwards to rest.

A Los Angeles man, Ruben Fregosojuarez, was charged with murder and child abuse after he killed his 36-year-old partner and fled to Mexico with their 5-year-old daughter, Daleyza, triggering an AMBER Alert.

Officers found the woman dead during a welfare check, and surveillance footage showed the father and child near the border before they disappeared.

The DA said Fregosojuarez allegedly intended to flee the country and could face 25 years to life if convicted. Authorities are still searching for both him and the child.
