The project is my ongoing examination of Monk’s compositional architecture, and each recording in the series has attempted to approach that body of work with seriousness and respect.

Integrating voice into this framework developed gradually, and it called for careful consideration of how vocal interpretations could exist within the harmonic and rhythmic demands of the Hammond organ.

As the Artistic Director, .rainamusic conceived the album as a cohesive suite rather than a collection of individual tracks, curated the repertoire, structured the dramatic arc, arranged all eighteen compositions, contributed original lyrics, and authored the liner notes. Her involvement marked a structural expansion of the project; her artistic preparation and operational leadership over the past 3 years supported the broader build-up to this release.
