# 🛠 Dust Control SOP for Curb Painters (Grinding Outside)

**Purpose:** Prevent dust from blowing into the street, lawns, or customer property during curb paint prep.
**Applies to:** All curb painters using grinders outside.

✅ Step 1 — Setup

* ☐ Grinder with **dust shroud** attached
* ☐ **HEPA shop vac** connected to grinder
* ☐ Extension cord with **outdoor GFCI**
* ☐ **Tarp/drop cloth** (3–4 ft wide) placed under curb
* ☐ **Plastic shield** if near cars, flowers, or windows

✅ Step 2 — Grinding

* ☐ Keep **dust shroud sealed** flat on curb
* ☐ **Vacuum ON** during entire grinding
* ☐ Work in **3–4 ft curb sections**
* ☐ Lightly **mist curb with water** if extra dust forms
* ☐ Always wear **N95 or half-mask respirator**

* ☐ Vacuum ground around curb after grinding
* ☐ Roll tarp carefully to trap dust, double-bag debris
* ☐ Sweep or blow curb to leave **dust-free finish**
* ☐ Wipe any nearby overspray/dust spots
