As a result of this and Gov Hochul's unwillingness to backfill federal cuts - half a million NYers who make between 200-250% of the federal poverty line will lose their Medicaid-funded Essential Plan insurance on July 1. It’s anticipated that even steeper cuts are coming next year that could threaten Medicaid coverage to another million New Yorkers or more.
