Daycare Worker Jimmie Jane Grantham Hit 10-month-old Baby In Head With A Bottle & Broke His Leg
Jimmie Jane Grantham, 63, was taken into custody and charged with felony child abuse and neglect after a mother reported that her child experienced abuse while attending the Just for Kids Preschool and Childcare Center on Lynnhaven Road in Virginia Beach.
That mother has retained legal representation.
The family’s legal team at Cooper Hurley stated that the alleged incident occurred a few months ago, specifically on March 13. They claim that her then-10-month-old son was dropped off at daycare that morning as a "happy and healthy infant."
Later that same day, the child’s mother received a call from someone at the daycare who expressed concern about an injury to the child’s foot. The child was taken to the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, where doctors diagnosed him with a fractured shin.
The child’s mother reported that she received several conflicting accounts regarding how the injury occurred.
Virginia Beach Police became involved, and over the weekend, they arrested and charged Grantham with felony child abuse and neglect.

BODYCAM: Georgia Cop Left Disabled Veteran & Amputee Husband Stranded On Dark Highway
In late April 2026, Army veteran Debra Mobley-Sadler Sims and her husband, Bobby—who is a bilateral amputee and wheelchair user—were stopped by a police officer in Hinesville, Georgia.
Officer Todd Parmentier initiated the stop because the state's electronic database indicated that the couple's vehicle lacked insurance. However, the couple's insurance provider (USAA) later confirmed in writing that their policy was indeed active and in force at that time.
Even after explaining that the veteran's husband was an amputee who had not walked in two years, the officer issued a citation, ordered them out of the vehicle, and had their car towed. The officer left the vulnerable couple stranded on the side of a dark, unlit road in the middle of the night, instructing them to catch an Uber. With no practical way to get home, they had to call a family member for a ride
