Today I have been playing around with the laser
I’ve been learning to use Adobe illustrator and I’ve drawn up a couple of things…
I did the sun and moon first and separately from each other and then thought they would look nice together so I moved them around until I thought that they looked good. Then I tried to etch them and it looked ok but I thought it could look better so I ended up etching the moon as a block rather than a line to end up with that 👇🏻👇🏻
With the tree I drew it up but when I put it into the laser software it went mad. Almost all of the lines moved out of place so Me and my dad spent a while sorting that out after that my dad tried to make some of the outer lines thicker and on the computer it looked fine but it ended up turning out a little bit crazy! Not quite what I was going for 😂
They all still have a few kinks to work out but I think they will end up looking good on a coaster or something?

I've been experimenting with etching onto slate coasters today.
This is just for practice and I know it’s on the wonk!
Once I know I can get them right, I’ll do some different designs and get them in my eBay shop.
I was thinking I could do number signs for front doors and things like that too.
What events or special days would these make a good gift for? I’ve already got Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Wedding gifts & Birthdays on my list but help me out if you think of any others 🙂

I am making these jewellery trees now that Innovation Ben has taught me how to use the laser cutter.
They were actually designed by my Dad, based on an idea I had. He’s no longer selling them, so now I am making them instead.

These Personalised Jewellery Tree Stands are laser cut to order. Made from 3mm thick MDF, they can be painted, decoupaged or left natural finish. The stand is 250mm wide x 230mm tall.
ASSEMBLY: It’s made of three parts which simply slot together following the instructions which are laser etched into the frame.
FEATURES: The stand is strong enough to support several necklaces, bracelets and bangles. It has 42 holes to hold up to 21 pairs of earrings.
