👉🏻It’s a fact: overextending to please others will negatively impact your mental health. It can lead to emotional exhaustion, burnout, stress, and anxiety.
✨Being a caring and supportive person is an important part of maintaining healthy relationships with loved ones but it’s also important to understand our limits.
✨If you’re pushing your feelings aside or pursuing the happiness of others at the expense of your own wellbeing, you're engaging in unhealthy behaviors that will undoubtedly hurt your physical and mental health.
👉🏻Here are a few commons signs of overextension:
1- You have a hard time saying “no.”
2- Your body constantly feels on edge or high alert because you’re juggling all the things.
3- You never have any free time because you’re always doing things for other people.
4- You neglect your own needs in order to do things for others.
5- Your body feels tired and your mind is exhausted. You’re having a hard time concentrating and keeping up.
🚨So what do we do about it?
1- Be mindful of the things that give you energy and drain your energy. Do more of what lifts you up.
2- Show yourself compassion and love. Use affirmations!
3- Remain patient when you feel overwhelmed and remember that your needs are important.
4- Identify your needs and enforce boundaries.

👉🏻Did you know that stress can manifest in the body and present as physical ailments? Read below for some signs you may be stressed and tips on how to manage! 👇🏻
✨Nausea, vomiting, digestive issues, chest tightness, jaw pain, headache, back pain, and neck tension are all common physical symptoms of stress.
👉🏻 The problem is, if we don’t get down to the root of the cause and find meaningful self-care practices to alleviate stress, these physical symptoms will continue to persist regardless of medical intervention.
✨In other words, it’s imperative that we heal our internalized pain in order to find physical relief.
👉🏻We do this by finding our tension tamers and practicing them regularly to get ahead of any stress induced symptoms. Exercise, rest, meditate, read, sing, dance, cuddle, sleep, whatever feels right to you! And work with a coach or therapist if you feel you need some additional support to work through your stressors💖

💖Creating and maintaining safety is such an important piece of self-care. If we’re constantly in a heightened state where we feel on edge or on high-alert, we will become exhausted, burnt out, and our health will decline. Taking time to ensure we feel grounded and safe in our body, both physically and emotionally, will allow us to self-regulate and maintain our mental health.
👉🏻Take some time today to listen to the messages your body and mind are sending so that you can create a safe and loving space for healing and growth.
