Meet Rama Devi, the Sarpanch* of Belmundi village in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. This powerhouse was single-handedly instrumental in bringing parents and community members to the RISE Parent Sessions…rallying families, opening doors, and building trust every step of the way.

From mobilising the community to securing the village hall where every session was held, Rama Devi made sure the conversations reached the parents who needed them most. But her greatest contribution was her voice. Her support and endorsement gave the programme credibility, helping parents show up, engage, and begin important conversations around girls’ education and gender equality.

Because when local women leaders lead from the front, communities listen.
