BigLaw Alum + Life Coach for Lawyers | Control of your time, Clarity on how to use it, Confidence you
"If only I had more confidence, I'd go after what I REALLY want."
It's a heavy and deeply painful thing to believe that what you want (if you even dare to acknowledge it) isn't possible for you.
And I hear this all the time from people who (despite their impressive achievements) have convinced themselves that the personal and professional fulfillment they dream about won't ever become a reality.
But while it's super common (I spent years hooked on this one), it is based on a MISTAKEN premise about the purpose and timing of CONFIDENCE.
Let me explain...
If you've been getting to the end of your day or week and wondering "what the hell happened?"
If it feels like time is drifting and you're often not sure what to do with it.
If you've been struggling to find the energy, motivation and focus to make progress on whatever you're working on - personally or professionally.
One, you're not alone.
And two, you're going to want to watch this video.
In it, I share two really SIMPLE things that you can do to take more CONTROL of your TIME and use it the way that YOU want.

How much time have you spent ruminating over how you'd expected to be spending early Spring?
It's okay, me too, and it's normal to feel disappointed.
But focusing on your unmet expectations of what life should look like right now is also the surest way to miss the opportunities staring you right in the face.
I know it may not look like the land of opportunity from your window, but that's probably because you're still looking at your life situation through outdated (pre-corona) lenses.
Take the side-by-side images I took on a recent hike. What do you see?
Well, you'd probably see a fallen tree, and a foot bridge.
The first just a part of the natural landscape, and the second a constructed, planned way of crossing the stream.
But what if the footbridge suddenly cracked or got washed away?
Would you lament that your footbridge plans had been thwarted and just sit there, pondering "what could have been"?
Or would you glance over and think "huh, well that big fallen tree is connected to the other bank of the stream, and it looks sturdy. Let's climb across."
Yeah, exactly. If you needed to cross the stream to get to your destination, you'd probably just get on with it and climb across the tree.
Why?
Because you were clear on your needs and priorities (I need to cross), and not particularly attached to your expectations of how to meet them (footbridge or bust!).
Well, we're now in a moment where the footbridge for many of us has been washed away.
And you have a choice:
(1) Sit there and be upset that the footbridge is gone until search & rescue airlifts you out or
(2) Look for another bridge.
If you're into option 2, great news, I have a bridge to sell you. It's an amazing value, and it's in Brooklyn. :)
Seriously though, I do.
