As a manager, your goal might be to create the highest-performing team in the company, the team that other teams envy and look up to.

But, encouraging and supporting your team on their path to peak performance does not happen over night.

In fact, this is an an ongoing journey for you as a manager.

Here are a few strategies for building a high-performing team:

1. Create a shared sense of purpose for the team to rally around
2. Invest in employee development
3. Celebrate success together and recognize contributions

Do you feel like you have a good work-life balance?

If you answered "who does?" I encourage you to think about ways you can incorporate more work-life balance into your life without feeling unproductive or guilty for not working those long hours.

One thing I've, personally, come to terms with is that work-life balance is a cycle, not a clearly defined achievement or perfect mindset that fits everyone.

Harvard Business Review explains that the work-life balance cycle includes 5 stages:

1. Pause and denormalize: in a nutshell, this stage asks for reflection -- what is stressing you out? How is this affecting your job or you personally?

2. Pay attention to your emotions

3. Reprioritize

4. Consider your alternatives

5. Implement changes

(Optional 6th step: Repeat 🔄)

Do you have any other advice for those looking to improve work-life balance? Drop your recommendations in the comments ⬇️

We are currently experiencing The Great Resignation.

What is that?

The Great Resignation, also known as the Big Quit, is the ongoing trend of employees voluntarily leaving their jobs, from spring 2021 to the present, largely in the United States.

If you are someone who has just quit your job or you are considering quitting your job, there are some things you can reflect on as you decide on where to go next in your professional career. Think about these points:

- What are your personal values and mission? Knowing this can help you determine if your next job or opportunity is a good fit.

- Identify people, organizations and leaders that can add value to you professionally and connect with them.

- Be strategic in your job search. You are also interviewing them, as much as they are interviewing you.

Have you experienced The Great Resignation in your organization OR have you recently resigned from a position?
