TODAY is World Refugee Day 2026!
Every year, on June 20, the world comes together to honor the strength, courage, and resilience of millions of people who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, violence, persecution, and climate crises.
There are 42.5 million refugees in the world, and the reality today is that less than 1% of refugees are resettled globally each year.
World Refugee Day is not only a moment to reflect, it is a call to act. It is a reminder that behind every statistic is a human story: a child with dreams, a parent seeking safety, a family rebuilding from unimaginable loss.
The international theme for this year’s World Refugee Day is “Until Everyone Is Safe”. Today and every day, we stand in solidarity with refugees around the world.
