Last Saturday, we gathered at the intersection of nightlife memory and collective care at Nowadays in collaboration with Body Hack, honoring the ways q***r clubs, parties, and afters have long served as spaces of refuge, resistance, and survival across generations in NYC.
With gratitude to the artists and cultural workers who shaped the program, including Body Hack, Lola Flash, Alice O’Malley, Julie Tolentino, Anh Vo, Buffy, viento izquierdo ugaz, D1NAH, and FASHION.
Together, we raised funds in support of Black Trans Liberation Kitchen and The Celebration of Black Trans Women Cookout, going directly to community-led efforts supporting trans and gender non-conforming care and survival. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed. And to all who gathered, listened, and danced into the night, thank you for carrying with us.

🪩 Sanctuary as dance floor.
Join us this Saturday, June 27, for “Sanctuary After Dark: Legacies of Q***r Nightlife” to explore nightlife as a form of sanctuary and refuge for q***r communities across generations in NYC.
Presented with Body Hack’s 48 Hour Pride Nonstop at Nowadays, the program traces the lineage between the legendary C**t Club—a q***r party founded in 1990 by Julie Tolentino and Jocelyn Taylor that organized and galvanized communities through years of crisis and upheaval—and Body Hack, whose parties and fundraisers continue to support trans and gender non-conforming community members today.

On Saturday, June 27, from 2-10 PM, join us for "Sanctuary After Dark: Legacies of Q***r Nightlife."
Our free public gathering explores nightlife as a site of sanctuary, refuge, resistance, and collective care for q***r communities across generations in NYC. Artists and cultural workers Lola Flash, Alice O’Malley, Julie Tolentino, viento izquierdo ugaz, and more alongside DJs D1NAH and FASHION trace lineage from the legendary q***r party C**t Club to Body Hack, a contemporary collective producing parties and fundraisers that support trans and gender non-conforming communities.
This event is organized in collaboration with Body Hack's 48 Hour Pride Nonstop at Nowadays, a weekend-long celebration supporting mutual aid efforts for trans healthcare, housing, decarceration, and community wellbeing.

Sometimes sanctuary takes the form of movement. Sometimes it looks like release. Sometimes it means with TTA Healing Studio.
Earlier this week at CTHQ, participants gathered for "Rooted: Cultivating Sanctuary in the Mind and Body," an evening of dance, somatics, Reiki, and reflection led by Savannah Schmidt We explored sanctuary not only as a place, but as an ongoing practice of tending to ourselves, our communities, and the wisdom carried within the body.
