At first glance, the colors feel playful. Look closer.
In “War Rug III (El Paso Shooting)” and “War Rug IV (Las Vegas Shooting)” [both 2020], transforms a traditional rug format into a reflection on violence, memory, and how tragedy becomes woven into everyday life.
On view now in “RugLife” at Pratt Manhattan Gallery on 14th Street.
