A well traveled song. I learned it first as sung by Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention. Recently I heard this interesting version by Lady Maisery. As many have commented, it is inevitably about the disconnect many of us have from nature. Though I treasure the mini escapes to nature I make as a city dweller, this song is really about a much deeper connection to experience. It is truly a mesmerizing song. As to the photo I have shared a few versions of this here already, but it pays to revisit photos sometimes. Murlough is an incredible wide stretch of beach, and between the whitecaps of the waves, the far-reaching sand, the lone figure on the beach, and the Mountains Of Mourne in the distance it was a day to feel the allure of the song
