Joyce Carol Vincent was a 38-year-old woman living alone in a small apartment in Wood Green, North London. Although she once had a busy social life, she gradually became isolated and lost contact with many friends and family members.

In December 2003, Joyce is believed to have died alone in her apartment, possibly from natural causes such as an asthma attack. Tragically, no one realized she was gone.

For almost three years, her death went unnoticed. Due to delays and administrative issues, her apartment was not checked despite unpaid rent. Meanwhile, life continued around her in the busy building.

In January 2006, housing officials entered the apartment to repossess it. They discovered Joyce's body still sitting on the sofa. The television was still on, showing how suddenly her life had ended.

Wrapped Christmas presents were found nearby, believed to have been gifts she intended to give to family members.

Even though she lived above a shopping center surrounded by people, no one noticed her absence. Some neighbors remembered an unusual smell but assumed it came from nearby trash.

Joyce's story later gained worldwide attention and became the subject of the documentary Dreams of a Life. Her tragic case serves as a reminder that loneliness can exist even in the middle of a crowded city.

Although Cillian Murphy is a non-smoker in real life, his character Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders was rarely seen without a cigarette.

To create a realistic look, the production used herbal ci******es made from plant-based ingredients instead of to***co. Over the course of the show's six seasons, Murphy reportedly smoked around 18,000 of these prop ci******es while filming.

The large number was due to repeated takes and long shooting days, with his character using an average of about 3,000 ci******es per season.

Murphy later said that even herbal ci******es became uncomfortable after so much use. While Tommy Shelby remains one of his most famous roles, it was also one of the most physically demanding.

In 2022, a Swedish startup called Corvid Cleaning created a special machine to train wild crows to pick up cigarette butts. The project was developed in Södertälje, near Stockholm.

The crows were taught to drop cigarette butts into the machine, which rewarded them with small amounts of food. Founder Christian Günther-Hanssen said the birds took part voluntarily.

The idea was introduced during the city’s Science Week as a pilot project to help reduce litter and lower street-cleaning costs. Officials said cigarette butts are one of the most common types of trash found on streets.

In 2023, a man from the United Kingdom named Paul Wilkinson had a very unusual travel experience. He booked a normal Jet2 flight from Portugal to Northern Ireland, expecting a plane full of passengers. But when he boarded the aircraft, he discovered he was the only passenger on the entire flight.

Paul was surprised as he walked through the empty cabin and realized every seat was available just for him. The flight crew decided to make the experience fun and jokingly called him “King Paul,” treating him like a VIP on a private jet.

The crew gave him a personal safety demonstration before takeoff, and during the flight, the captain even came out to chat with him. Paul later shared the story online, where many people found it funny and hard to believe.

He joked that although private jets can cost around £28,000, his own “private flight” only cost him £162. What started as a normal trip home became a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
