Empty the Nest will be in Durham Kansas starting Wednesday April 22-25th @ 508 Lawrence Avenue-doors open at 1pm!
We have a lot of mentionable items including vintage hard to find Tupperware, Rare vtg Pyrex, CorningWare, Fire Kjng, Glass Bake, Anchor Hocking and Lusterware. Many electrical kitchen items with some still in box. Lots of collections including new bundles of embroidered tea towels, MCM Cosco yellow stool, vintage step stools and a huge collection of vintage cookbooks.
There is a large collection of assorted vintage and antique china from many notable brands, Homer Laughlin, Fenton, MCM decorative glass, ash trays, tables, couch, curtains and entertaining items. There is a beautiful collection of lighting with MCM heavy ceramic, vintage colored glass, MCM wood, antique clear and colored glass light shades (beautiful), modern, & vintage movie theater sconce lighting.
Some of the furniture pieces include wood secretary-library book cases, glider rocker, vintage metal bed frames, office furniture, wood benches, wood rocking chairs and more.
There is a life long collection of clowns and dolls. We have a huge collection of belt buckles including Hesston, rodeo, Ks towns & businesses, fireman, cowboy, native, Coop, decorative silver & stone, hundreds to choose from. There is leather belts, tools for leather making and accessories as well.
We have lots of linens including vintage towels, crochet and knitted items, bed linens, Vintage Singer sewing machine with accessories, large spools of thread and yarn never opened, vintage buttons never used, rare sewing notions and such. There is a very large collection of vintage pattern books for sewing, crocheting and iron ons. There is a Kenmore washer and dryer, mudroom bench, potting bench, galvanized kitchenware and canning items.
John Deere & Coca Cola memorabilia as well as a life long collection of clowns in lots of shapes and sizes. We have a lot of vintage and modern story and memorabilia books of Kansas towns as well as Amish fiction, How to’s, Farming Barns, religious, and so much more.
Several large complete tool boxes on wheels as well as carry along tool boxes modern, vintage and antique. A assortment of powered tools as well as hand tools including antique. Grinders, Saws, Drills, Ladders, levels, clamps and a barn full of bolts, screws, hooks and straps. Old vintage doors, hardware, wood, tin, and vintage lighting.
We have a newer Craftmans ride on lawn mower and other electrical yard tools. There is many metal yard utility wagons, pots, gardening tools, Yoder concrete decorative yard items, lawn furniture and cushions, iron benches, and much more.
There is vintage western suits and shirts, Coveralls and jackets, vintage women’s clothing, shoes, sandals, purses, coats, and hats.
We will open doors on Wednesday the 22nd from 1-5pm, Thursday 23rd 9-5pm, Friday 24th from 9-7pm, Saturday 25th from 9-1pm. The Durham Main Street Cafe & Bakery is open on Friday evenings for BBQ till 8pm!

Hi everyone…just a heads up our next sale starts April 22nd and is in Durham, Ks which is right up the road from Hillsboro. I know it may be a bit of a drive for some of you but I promise it will be worth it. This nice little lady has being storing and preserving more patterns of Pyrex in one house then I ever have seen along with the vintage Tupperware that is in perfect condition that we all remember using. There is a beautiful colored glass collection with some of the most beautiful antique lamps. Also if you know any clown collectors send them this way!! This sale is not just for the ladies because the husband had a garage, a barn and many sheds full of tools and other very cool items. There will be a large collection of belt buckles and some John Deer items for any collectors as well. If you have been searching for some vintage metal rockers there is several sets to choose from. While you’re there you can stop into Main Street cafe and Bakery and get yourself a yummy piece of pie..they give you homemade ice cream with your fruit pie if you have a seat and enjoy while you are there. Hello…if you all could do me a favor and share this message because we had 2 customers that never came back and picked up their purchases. All day today we will be cleaning out the home of the estate sale we just finished up and where they were purchased from if they would like to come back by and pick up. Thank you so much to all our customers that came and shopped with us over this week(end). We were so busy Saturday I never got to stop and really chat with anyone for very long and I do apologize. We made some new friends and saw so many of the familiar faces. I do hope you found some more treasures and got some good deals..we try and do our best to make everyone happy especially the client. We had a lot and sold SO MUCH but we have to be back Sunday so we thought we would just open the doors while we were there and let you all come back for a 75% off day. It will be a short day just from about 10-2 and once I get there and do some straightening I will post some pics/videos in the morning of what we have left.
