Mark and Bev Stephenson have six children and one grandchild. Their oldest child, Nicole, was born extremely prematurely and lives joyfully with severe, multiple disabilities. God used Nicole to lead Mark and Bev to the callings they have today. Bev was a German teacher and now teaches special education. Mark was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church (CRC) and served as pastor of two churches for 17 years; in 2006 he began serving the CRC as Director of Disability Concerns ministry, which works closely with the Disability Concerns ministry of the Reformed Church in America.

Sehrish Shikarpurya is a doctoral student at Texas A&M University. Her research interests include (a) supporting transition processes, services, and post-secondary outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) from minoritized backgrounds and (b) understanding intersectionality of faith and disability among young adults with IDD and their families. Prior to this position, she served as a special educator in a faith-based setting in both Texas and Atlanta
