FINAL DAY to nominate an Oceanside Hometown Hero! MainStreet Oceanside is seeking nominations for our 2023 Oceanside Independence Parade Hometown Heroes. This annual recognition honors Oceanside residents who have made a significant contribution of time and energy through volunteerism outside their normal scope of work to improve quality of life, promote positive community development and enhance neighborhoods in Oceanside. The “Honoring Our Hometown Heroes” theme was established in 2018 to honor local heroes of Oceanside who have contributed to making our community a wonderful place to live. The deadline to submit nomination forms is 5 p.m. on Friday, April 14, at OceansideParade.com. One or more selected Hometown Heroes will be honored in the Oceanside Independence Parade on Saturday, June 24, and must be available on that date and able to ride down the parade route. 📷: Road West Photo

Just 5️⃣ more days until the Oceanside Independence Parade returns to ! The 26th Annual Parade, presented byGenentechh, A Member of the Roche Group, will have a new theme: “Oceanside Strong, Honoring Our Hometown Heroes." With the support of our title sponsor, Genentech, and our media sponsor,Tri-City Medical Centerr, the parade will kick off at 10 a.m. at the intersection of South Coast Highway and Wisconsin Avenue with the 1st Marine Division Band and travel north on Coast Highway. In all more than 120 parade entries are expected to march, roll, walk and drive down historic Highway 101. A local tradition since 1892, the parade is made possible by over 100 volunteers. MainStreet Oceanside has rescheduled this year’s Oceanside Independence Parade to Saturday, July 2, 2022. We will continue our commitment to provide our community with this longtime tradition. Thanks for your support through the years. We will come back better than ever.
