Kind of embarrassing to admit, but I wrote this. I didn't really mean to. It just sorta happened. MOTEL ALABAMA
On a dark Southern highway cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of Juanitas rising up through the air
Up ahead at the exit I saw some flickering lights
My alternator's dying and my lights were dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood at the front desk so I didn't need to ring the bell
I was thinking to myself this place looks shady as hell
Then she lit up a candle must not have paid the power bill
There was voices from behind a door, I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Motel Alabama not such a lovely place
Not such a lovely face
Plenty of rooms at the Motel Alabama no matter what it is
You can find it here
Her mind is definitely twisted she wants a Mercedes-Benz
But these broke-ass Alabama boys only got singles and tens
So she just does 'em in the parking lot, sweet summer sweat
It was a sight to remember and not one that I'll soon forget
So I called up the Uber said please bring me some wine
And he said we're slap out of that all we got is moonshine
And now it shows he's coming from far away
Long as he gets here directly I guess that I'll be okay
Welcome to the Motel Alabama such an ugly place such an ugly face
They be living it up at the Motel Alabama it's not a nice surprise
When you see them blue lights
There was a mirror on the ceiling and pink lemonade on ice
She said they ain't got no batteries here but we can still use my device
And in her sister's chambers they gathered for the feast
They try to cut it with their rusty knives but they just can't slice the beets
Last thing I remember was running out the door
I was gonna try to find the highway back to the place I stayed at before
Hands up said the white man it's time for me to receive
You can go anytime you like but your wallet can't never leave
They'll be sticking you up at the Motel Alabama
Next to the trailer park, don't go there after dark
They're cooking up m**h at the Motel Alabama
And the cops don't care, they won't even go there.
