We were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Vietnam War nurse, veteran, and advocate Diane Carlson Evans, whose determination led to the creation of the Vietnam Women's Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The Utah Valley University Archives has preserved Diane Carlson Evans' oral history as part of The Vietnam Era Oral History Project. In her interview with UVU history professor Dr. William Cobb, she shares her experiences serving as an Army nurse in Vietnam, living with PTSD after the war, and the years-long effort to establish the Vietnam Women's Memorial. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of preserving firsthand accounts for future generations.
