Today on July 4th and America’s 250 birthday, Libertas and our donors facilitated the rescue and repatriation of a teenager who was being trafficked in Mexico. She was tricked there with a fake job offer and when she arrived she was beaten and sold for s*x. We worked with local authorities and were able to free this young woman.

Today when we celebrate freedom, we also were able to give someone back their freedom.

The death toll in the Venezuelan earthquake hit over 1000 over the weekend. Families are left devastated, people are hungry, children are orphaned and traffickers are on the move.

Our favorite news of the week is when denies entry to people coming to Colombia to exploit vulnerable populations.

Last week, 21 men from the United States attempted to come into Bogotá to produce a s*x based reality show in Colombia. They were denied entry.

10 of these men tried to come back the very week next to Medellin and Cartagena and were again denied and sent back.

We applaud the efforts of Colombia to prevent men like this from exploiting vulnerable women and children.
