A Call To Create

I transitioned to being a full time SAHM right before our second son was born. Transitions are hard for me. Once I’m cozy, I’m at my best. The decision wasn’t easy but in faith and complete trust in God we stepped into it knowing it was right—for our family, for our boys, for our marriage.. for me. We had to learn new ways to live, budget, flow.. we learned to be flexible and gracious as we gently moved from one season into another. We created margin in how we used our time, energy and resources. That margin allowed me time to be. To explore a creative component of my being, how God made me.. the gifts He generously gave for me to put to use for glory, witness, and testimony. Trace was the one who gave me the permission I thought I needed to move into something else and with that “yes,” God blessed it. I’ve sketched thousands of different people, gone through watercolor sets, replaced dried up markers, sharpened pencils and worn down MANY erasers because ya girl makes lots of mistakes (quite literally but also figuratively). I’ve learned how business works, trialed and errored new things, brainstormed with others in my niche and industry, connected with MANY, learned how to care for people in the way I create and in the way they experience what and how I create. I’m trusted by strangers with their most precious things, a true honor.

All because Trace gave me the space and allowed the margin for our family to take new roots. He works tirelessly, balances so much well, encourages me to do the hard things, pushes me past the boundaries I’ve set but need to hop over. He’s supported me as a wife, a mother, an artist, a business owner (what?!) and as a daughter of the King. So much of what I’m able to do is because of Trace and I wanted to “create” the space to express my gratitude for Him and who he is. As someone in the wedding industry who gets to interact with engaged couples anticipating new seasons and beginnings—let me express that who you marry matters. My ability to serve is rooted in so much more than simply myself. Thank you for trusting my family, for blessing my family and for being a part of what has become quite literally “A Call To Create.” Here’s to stepping into the next right thing. 🫶🏻

Also, today is our 9th anniversary. Thankful to walk through the gift of marriage with you Trace. You’re a good egg. 🥚
