Last night after coming off a project, my father and I went out to dinner locally and out to Altadena. I was able to invite my father to one of my projects in Altadena (he brought me a tool)— most of you have no idea what this recovery process is like at all. I was not directly affected but everyone around me is!
My father was completely in awe of this property and just so complimentary about every nook and cranny. He needed a piece of his spirit lifted.
Back to dinner—holy s**t I was beside myself at what the owner had to say about a majority of the fire victims properties.
No friggen way dude— desensitized at its best. Definitely would have kept that to myself. THE END

Studio 33 Design Concepts
What a perfect project we were on yesterday in Newport Coast.
Our client absolutely loves their formal dining room grass cloth installation. If you don’t know much about grass cloth wallpaper, let me inform you natural woven goods can present on a number of challenges like color variances, regardless of the dye lot and that that’s exactly what went on at this project. Not to mention, we wrapped the bullnose in the passage and in that arch….
And I don’t mind wrapping the switch plates! I love it when my client is writing a check for final payment and they look up at you and say “you know just thought you should know you were the highest bid, but I trusted you and I knew that you would do the best job. That’s Italian! With a twist of Polish charm.
I think it it’s about time I start talking about the things that I can do with creating custom paper.

With the past month a number of conversations and requests for classic decorative applications are on the table. My formal training with faux wood grain comes from a gentleman I lost track of years ago—-I hope he’s doing big things again!! And being treated well.
This is a set of samples I still have in a travel box and will pull them out from time to time. Well, it’s time.
I’m working on a proposal today and it it reminded me about our category of work and respect for the former artist that originally did the effect that I now have to restore a good number of doors to it original state.
The sample arrangement has been painted of plaster molding. It almost doesn’t matter the base material you just have to prep the surface properly.
I’ll let you know if I get the project because it would be a privilege in more ways than just one.

Ironically—yesterday I had to make a trip to Altadena and decided to drive up my fathers street.
This came to mind:
-In every adversity, is a seed of equal or greater benefit.
An hour later he called to see if I was home so he could stop by. He gifted me a copy of his vinyl record in process. He’s so funny about celebrity status, I say that because he always asks me if I know this person or that person. I look at him while he either explains what he’s working on or makes references about those in the limelight as more important and impressive than him.
He shared an awakening moment with me yesterday, as usual I went down a response mode and when I got done he laughed pretty hard and said “I just saw my mother in you”! As he lightly pounded on the table mimicking her perfectly in chime demonstrating my personality.
When I stopped in front of the property yesterday was a little cactus pup coming up out of the ground.

There’s only one way to accomplish something—that’s doing it.
This young lady has been the most upstanding, dedicated, determined absolutely hysterical 1099 documented assistant (we are all documents by the way). She ask me to do something for her—might I add this is not just about her and certainty not about myself.
It takes a village to build something even if it’s small. The next documentary will be very special because it says more than this one!
