We have also discovered that a lot of times people don't actually read the descriptions posted in Petfinder and AdoptAPet. We try to write descriptions that will attract the right person for each of our cats. It saves us a bunch of time to be able to get it right the first time!

Yesterday we messaged an applicant thanking them for their application but letting them know the cat they applied for would not be good with kids, as stated on his Petfinder.

They replied, "it seems that all of your cats have issues. "

And this is what they meant...

Abbey & Jade are a BONDED pair and we are adopting them out together.
Hazel & Sophie are a BONDED pair and we are adopting them out together.
Glitch has a head tilt, half blind, and deaf.
F***y Pack is shy at first.
Sterling (who they applied for) bites when overstimulated, he needs an experienced cat owner with no kids.

We carefully match cats to homes based on compatibility, not convenience. If a particular cat isn’t the right fit for your household, we’re always happy to suggest others or encourage you to explore the many rescues and shelters.

Our cats don’t have “issues” they have histories, personalities, and specific needs, just like any living being. Our responsibility is to be transparent about those needs so we can place each cat in a home where they will truly thrive.

Some of our cats are bonded and rely on each other for comfort and stability. Others may be shy, have medical differences, or require experienced owners. That doesn’t make them less worthy. It simply means they need the right environment.

These 6 sweeties are on their way to Clackamas Petco and Glisan Petco! ETA is about 5:00 today. They are all incredibly friendly and outgoing, ready to find a forever home in Portland.
